Major depression affects more than 21 million American adults and 3.7 million of our youth each year. And yet, the current one-size-fits-all medical model for psychiatric treatment of depression doesn’t work for a significant portion of patients. In Finally Hopeful, functional psychiatrist Dr. James Greenblatt offers a new model of treatment acknowledging that depression is not “all in your head,” but in your body; it’s a complex mental and physical condition, influenced by nutrient intake and absorption, body chemistry, metabolism, genetics, hormones, food sensitivities, stressful life events, social support, and many other factors.

Dr. Greenblatt’s unique guide acknowledges that depression has many causes and often requires a customized range of therapies, both drug and non-drug. Finally Hopeful makes this whole-body approach available to everyone, delivering real hope and relief.

Finally Focused: The Natural Treatment Plan for Child and Adult ADHD that Restores Attention, Minimizes Hyperactivity, and Helps Eliminate Medication Side Effects

“A clear, effective, and science-based program that gives you all the building blocks to treat
ADHD naturally and effectively.”
—Daniel G. Amen, MD, founder of Amen Clinics and New York Times bestselling author of
Change Your Brain, Change Your Life

In Finally Focused, Dr. James Greenblatt shares proven strategies to support children and adults
with ADHD—approaches that can dramatically reduce symptoms, with or without medication.
Drawing on decades of clinical practice, Dr. Greenblatt demonstrates that ADHD is a medical
condition, not a discipline problem. He reveals the biological factors often overlooked in
conventional treatment and shows how addressing these root causes can transform outcomes.
Instead of relying solely on medication, Dr. Greenblatt outlines integrative methods to correct
nutritional deficiencies, restore microbial balance in the gut, and improve sleep—issues that
frequently trigger or worsen ADHD symptoms. Parents will find practical guidance to help their
children thrive, while adults with ADHD will discover new pathways to relief.

The Every Other Day Diet: The Diet That Lets You Eat All You Want (Half the Time) and Keep the Weight Off

(and Krista Varady, Ph.D.)

Every other day – Feast Day -- you can eat anything you want and as much as you want.  And on alternate days –Diet Days-- you eat 500 calories—or about 25% of normal caloric intake. You’d think that a dieter would go crazy eating on Feast Days, right?  Not so. Surprisingly, on Feast Days the average dieter eats only 110% of what he’d usually eat.  So over one week, that means he’s taken in about one third less than usual, with no restriction lasting more than a day, and no need to weigh foods or mix and match food groups! Plus, it’s clear from Dr. Varady’s extensive studies with real dieters that there are many unexpected health benefits to alternate day dieting, as it lowers several risk factors for heart disease, such as LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.  Steady weight loss with a sensible maintenance program, delicious recipes, a healthier body and a minimal sense of deprivation.  What diet could be more appealing?
